Supporting Cryptocurrency-Friendly Politicians
Fairshake is an organization that actively supports politicians who are in favor of cryptocurrencies. In early February, the PAC raised an impressive $85 million, with major contributions from industry giants Coinbase and Ripple. Coinbase donated $24.5 million, while its CEO Brian Armstrong added an extra $1 million to the cause. Ripple also made a significant contribution of $20 million. Additionally, venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz and Electric Capital contributed $20 million and $500,000 respectively.
Fairshake’s Mission and Recent Allocation of Funds
Fairshake describes itself as a supporter of candidates who aim to make the United States a hub for internet innovators. The PAC not only backs presidential candidates but also regional politicians. Recently, Fairshake allocated a significant portion of its funds to support Patrick McHenry, the chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee. However, McHenry announced his retirement in 2025, leaving it unclear whether he returned the funds to the PAC.
