Interoperability platform Wormhole to leverage AMD hardware for scaling cross-chain communication
Interoperability platform Wormhole has partnered with AMD to enhance its capacity for secure cross-chain communication. Wormhole will utilize AMD’s Alveo U55C and U250 adaptable accelerator cards, known for their compute-heavy tasks, to generate and verify zero-knowledge proofs across networks. The project aims to create secure “corridors” between over 30 blockchains for messaging.
ZK-based light clients to improve security and decentralization
Wormhole plans to roll out mainnet deployments of various zero-knowledge (ZK) light clients in the coming months. These clients will facilitate secure communication channels across major blockchains such as Ethereum, Near, Solana, Aptos, Sui, and Cosmos. The use of AMD devices will help scale proof generation and verification in the light clients. This move is crucial for Wormhole’s commitment to product security following a security breach in February 2022.
