AVAX Experiences Block Finalization Stall, Developers Investigating
AVAX has confirmed a block finalization stall, which is currently preventing blocks from being accepted on the network. Developers are actively investigating this issue to identify the cause and resolve it. This incident was reported by Avalanche at 6:30 a.m. ET.
Data from an Avalanche blockchain explorer indicates that the last block on the Avalanche subnets (P-Chain, X-Chain, and C-Chain) was more than an hour ago, aligning with the reported alert.
In March 2023, there was a brief outage that affected subnets C-Chain and X-Chain. Additionally, on February 1st, block ingestion on Avalanche experienced a delay due to an issue with an infrastructure provider. However, it did not impact the performance or stability of the Avalanche network or any subnets.
Solana, a competitor in the Layer 1 blockchain space, also faced outages earlier this month following similar incidents throughout 2022.
Avalanche has been contacted for comment regarding this recent block finalization stall.
