The flagship processor, Ascend 910B, is currently in use, while plans are underway for the upcoming Ascend 910C, projected to rival Nvidia’s H100 series.

According to Wei Sun, a senior analyst at Counterpoint Research, Alibaba’s Hanguang 800 has already improved its recommendation algorithms for e-commerce, while Baidu has implemented its Kunlun chip across its data centers and in the autonomous driving domain.

Biren Technology mirrors Nvidia by designing general-purpose GPUs along with a software platform for application development. Its chips are featured in the Bili series, specifically tailored for AI training within data centers.

This past year, Biren was placed on a U.S. blacklist called the Entity List, which severely limits its access to critical American technology.

Similar to its counterparts, Moore Threads is also included on the U.S. Entity List, further complicating its ability to grow in the current technological landscape.
