Wormhole has introduced its Staking Rewards Program (SRP) with the initial distribution of rewards, granting substantial benefits to early adopters of W tokens. Who Qualifies for Rewards? ?
The first period of the SRP recognizes individuals who staked their W tokens for governance on EVM chains as well as on Solana, specifically from June 10, 2024, to the snapshot date of January 8, 2025. To collect rewards, eligible users can visit the W Dashboard, where rewards will vest over a period of 90 days.

To qualify, users on EVM chains must have delegated their tokens to a non-null address during the reward timeframe, achieving a minimum of 25,000 W held multiplied by the number of days staked. For instance, holding 1,000 W for 100 days counts as 100,000 W x days. The rewards are defined by the user’s W token balance and the duration it was staked, with additional bonuses offered to those who also acquired the Discord Steakorrrs role.
Staking on Solana and Addressing Sybil Attacks ?
For those staking on Solana, participation in the designated program from December 4, 2024, until the snapshot date also qualifies them for rewards. A minimum balance of 100 W is required. This reward structure parallels that of the EVM chains, combining both fixed and variable incentives based on the accumulated W x days.
To combat potential sybil attacks, Wormhole has undertaken measures to analyze and consolidate sybil activities, which has led to the reduction of specific rewards by 40% to 80% for flagged accounts. This system aims to ensure that rewards are distributed equitably among authentic participants.
