The Guardian Network, tasked with ensuring the safety and sustainability of Wormhole’s operations, has conducted an exhaustive evaluation of various networks. Based on this assessment, a decision has been made to discontinue support for specific networks due to concerns over transaction volumes and resource usage.

The networks facing full discontinuation include:
- Terra
- Terra2
- Oasis
- Aurora
- Acala
- Karura
- Xpla
During this transition, Wormhole will deactivate the full nodes associated with these networks from its platform, leading to the cessation of both outgoing messages and token transfers. Nevertheless, incoming transactions will remain permissible as long as a majority of Guardians offer their backing.
Changes for Cosmos Chains ?
Alongside the full discontinuation, Wormhole will also make adjustments to select Cosmos chains including Injective, Osmosis, Evmos, and Kujira, directing them toward community-supported interfaces. This transition indicates that Wormhole will halt its subsidized Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) relaying, and the Portal-Wormhole’s interface for token transfers-will no longer support frontends for these chains.
The current IBC connections will continue to be whitelisted, allowing stakeholders to configure their own frontends and IBC relaying solutions to sustain token transfers for the affected chains.
Timeline for Implementation ⏳
The deprecation will unfold in two distinct stages. Initially, the Guardian Network will disconnect the nodes of the impacted chains, followed by the removal of these networks from the Portal frontend. These changes are set to be enacted by summer 2025, which ensures a smooth transition for users before the changes take place.
