Stani Kulechov announces rebranding to Avara
The founder of Aave Corporations, Stani Kulechov, has revealed that the network of blockchain entities that he created has rebranded as Avara. The rebranding reflects Avara’s new mission to bring Web 3.0 to users universally with different use cases, going beyond DeFi.
Journey to Avara
Originally known as EthLend, Aave changed its name as its scope outgrew its previous targets. Avara, a Finnish word colloquially used as “to see more than you can see,” now represents the numerous entities formerly operating as part of Aave while Aave Labs, Aave Protocol, AAVE token, and GHO stablecoin will retain their names.
Future Plans
A major focus for Avara has been the Lens Protocol, a social network protocol for Web 3.0, allowing familiar interaction and decentralized social media. Avara has acquired Los Feliz Engineering, the team behind Family, to further its mission to bring Web 3.0 to all. Regardless of this move, Avara remains deeply committed to advancing decentralized finance and spearheading technological innovations.
Hot Take
Avara intends to become the go-to protocol for anyone looking to integrate Web 3.0 capabilities into their projects, regardless of its nature, making strides in both social expansion and the DeFi space.
