AltLayer, for example, stated that their airdrop was not exclusive to Eigen Labs but included several other projects as well.
Reasons Behind Airdrops

EigenLayer believes that utilizing team-sourced contributor lists for distribution is more effective than alternatives like Github contributions, which could be susceptible to manipulation and may overlook non-developer contributions. Consequently, EigenLayer assisted in providing contributor lists for ecosystem projects, which were utilized for the airdrops.
Measures Implemented
In an effort to address any potential conflicts of interest, EigenLayer updated its internal policies in May to prevent employees from receiving future airdrops. Any forthcoming airdrops intended for Eigen Labs will now be directed solely to the company itself. Furthermore, in June, EigenLayer launched the EigenLayer Ecosystem Network, inspired by the Protocol Guild. This platform enables projects to list their company addresses, thereby ensuring that airdrops are directed to companies on the list, aligning incentives across the ecosystem.
