Justin Sun’s Support for Algorand
The Algorand Foundation’s X account was the first to report the hack and warned users to be cautious when interacting with the compromised account. The hacker made controversial posts and replies, calling the Algorand community “poor” and suggesting they sell ALGO for Ether. The hacker also offered a fake airdrop giveaway and shared music. Additionally, a fake story was shared about a call with Justin Sun, where he promised to boost Algorand if given control over the network.
Criticism of Algorand CEO
The hack and posts received mixed reactions from the crypto community. Some found it humorous while others expressed their discontent with the CEO. One user compared the CEO to an intern at the SEC, referencing a recent hack on the SEC’s account. Crypto sleuth ZachXBT jokingly suggested that the hacker would make a better CEO for Algorand.
