The Refund Offer
The cryptocurrency mining platform AntPool has announced that it will refund a transaction fee of 83 Bitcoin (BTC) to an affected user. The platform’s risk control system froze the fee during the transaction packaging process, and now the user can claim their refund by verifying their identity.
Submitting Details for Refund
The affected user has until December 10 to submit their information to AntPool. They must use either Electrum or Bitcoin Core as a signing tool and sign the message with the code “AntPool” using a private key provided by AntPool.
A Costly Mistake
In a similar incident in September, Paxos paid a transaction fee of $500,000 to move only $2,000 worth of BTC. The Bitcoin miner who received the fee considered distributing it among the Bitcoin miner community but ultimately returned it to Paxos.
Celebrating Bitcoin’s Anniversary
On November 28, Bitcoin marked the 11th anniversary of its first halving, experiencing a significant price increase from $12 to around $37,000.
