Terra (LUNA) Founder Do Kwon’s Extradition Approved by Montenegro Court
A court in Montenegro has granted the extradition of Do Kwon, the disgraced founder of Terra (LUNA), to the United States and South Korea. The Higher Court of Podgorica ruled that the necessary legal requirements for Kwon’s extradition have been met.
Kwon was arrested in Montenegro after trying to board a flight to the United Arab Emirates using a forged Costa Rican passport. He was sentenced to four months in prison but both the US and South Korea sought his extradition to face charges related to the $40 billion crash of the Terra ecosystem in 2022.
Although Kwon consented to be extradited, the Montenegrin court decided to make a ruling on the matter. The court’s decision paves the way for Kwon’s transfer to face justice in the US and South Korea.
