The Open Network Foundation Announces Attempt to Become the World’s Fastest Blockchain
The Open Network Foundation (TON Foundation) has announced its upcoming attempt to be officially recognized as the world’s fastest blockchain. The public network performance test is scheduled for October 31, 2023, at 15:00 UTC and aims to showcase the reliability, scalability, and speed of The Open Network (TON) blockchain.
Collaboration with Alibaba Cloud and Expansion of TON Blockchain
To conduct the performance test, TON Foundation will partner with Alibaba Cloud and set up 256 servers for validator nodes. A separate TON blockchain network will be created specifically for these tests. Since 2022, the TON blockchain has experienced significant growth, with a 20-fold increase in addresses from 170,000 to 3.5 million. The number of TON validator nodes has also increased to 350, spread across 25 different nations.
Reliable Track Record and Collaboration with Telegram
Despite its rapid expansion, the TON blockchain has maintained a reliable track record with no major network disruptions. The recent collaboration between TON Foundation and Telegram further emphasizes the foundation’s commitment to bringing decentralized technology to the mainstream. The upcoming performance test is a crucial step in demonstrating the unique capabilities of the TON blockchain, solidifying its position as the trusted infrastructure layer for the Web3 ecosystem in Telegram.
“We look forward to October 31, 2023, to confirm that the TON blockchain technically stands out among any other blockchain, especially in its ability to scale,” says Anatoly Makosov, Core Development Lead at TON Foundation. “This is the first large-scale public performance testing of TON – we’re just as excited as you are to see the results.”
