Base Emerges as Top EVM Chain for NFT Transfers
Less than a week since its launch, Base has become one of the leading Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains for NFT transfers. It is now the third most popular EVM by transfer volume for both the ERC-721 and ERC-1155 NFT standards.
Surge in Base NFT Transfers
- Base has seen a surge in NFT transfer volumes, surpassing alternatives such as Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, and direct transfers on Ethereum.
- Only Polygon and BNB have recorded more ERC-721 and ERC-1155 transfers than Base in recent days.
- On the day of its launch, Base recorded over 100,000 ERC-721 transfers, accounting for 14.2% of all transfers that day.
- Base has also eaten into Polygon’s share of the total volume for ERC-1155 transfers, accounting for nearly 20% of transfers while Polygon’s share fell below 65%.
Base Integrates into the NFT Ecosystem
Base has quickly attracted users due to its integration with the wider NFT ecosystem. It has already been pre-integrated with major wallets like Metamask and Trust Wallet, making it easy for users to onboard without purchasing network tokens. The surge in NFT activity on Base may be attributed to the launch of multiple new projects and excitement surrounding the new L2.
Hot Take
Base’s rapid rise as a top EVM chain for NFT transfers showcases its potential to disrupt the NFT market. With its integration into the wider ecosystem and growing user base, Base is positioned to become a major player in the NFT space.
