On December 7, 2023, BNB Chain’s L1 BNB Smart Chain (BSC) achieved its highest number of transactions ever recorded. The day saw over 32 million transactions, with inscription minting transactions on BNB Smart Chain accounting for a significant portion of the total. Despite the surge in activity, the gas price on BSC remained stable at 3 gwei throughout the period. The network underwent rigorous performance testing and processed 2,000 transactions per second (TPS) at its peak.
BSC’s Ability to Handle Increased Traffic
BSC’s large block size allowed it to smoothly handle the spike in traffic while maintaining a stable gas price. Even with TPS at around 200 on November 22, the network only utilized 15-20% of its block capacity, indicating that there is plenty of room for further traffic.
