Crypto Influencer ‘Bitboy Crypto’ Released on Bail After Arrest

Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, also known as ‘Bitboy Crypto,’ has been released from jail on bail of $2,600 following his arrest during an attempted live stream confrontation with a former business partner. Armstrong was arrested for “loitering/prowling” and “simple assault by placing another in fear.” He spent eight hours in jail before being released.

Armstrong sarcastically tweeted about his release, saying, “This is the hardest tweet I ever have had to make… My name is Ben and I’m a loiterer. I did 8 whole hours in the slammer.”

Confrontation and Livestream

Armstrong had informed his followers that he planned to go live on YouTube from a special location. He showed up outside the house of his former partner Carlos Diaz during the livestream. Armstrong accused Diaz of intending to harm him and claimed he was connected to the Houston mafia. The police arrived during the stream and questioned Armstrong about having a weapon, to which he admitted having one in his car.

BitBoy Crypto’s Troubled Past

This incident adds to a series of troubles for Armstrong. Recently, BJ Investment Holdings, the parent company of BitBoy Crypto, removed him from the brand due to concerns regarding substance abuse and harm. Armstrong tried to regain control of the firm but was unsuccessful. He also faced legal action for endorsing FTX, a bankrupt crypto exchange, and directed offensive messages towards an attorney involved in the case.

Hot Take: Bitboy Crypto’s Fall from Grace

Bitboy Crypto, once a prominent figure in the crypto world, has experienced a significant fall from grace. From his arrest for loitering and assault to being removed from the BitBoy Crypto brand due to substance abuse concerns, Armstrong’s troubles continue to pile up. His involvement in a legal case and defiance of court orders have further tarnished his reputation. It remains to be seen whether he can recover from these setbacks and regain the trust of the crypto community.
