Bitget’s Decision to Forgo Licensing in Hong Kong for Crypto-Exchange Operations

“Bitget Abandons Hong Kong and Virtual Asset Trading Platform (VATP) License Application“

Bitget, a well-known crypto-exchange, has decided to pull out of Hong Kong and forgo its application for a virtual asset trading platform (VATP) license. The company’s dedicated website will cease all operations as of December 13, 2023.

Users Urged to Withdraw Assets

The decision not to pursue a VATP license means that BitgetX will no longer be accessible after December 13, 2023. Users are advised to withdraw their assets before the deadline to avoid losing them. Additionally, Bitget has announced that no new users will be accepted during this time and that existing users can only withdraw their assets but not trade them.

Celebrating in Buenos Aires

Despite abandoning Hong Kong, Bitget celebrated its “perfect week” in Buenos Aires. The crypto-exchange also announced that it is among the finalists for the Fintech Finance Awards 2023 in the “Best in Crypto” category.

Innovation and Meme Zone

Bitget recently added Memecoin (MEMECOIN) to its Innovation Zone and Meme Zone section, allowing traders to start trading the ERC-20 token in the Memeland ecosystem. Following this addition, Bitget plans to include more tokens in both sections. Today, Sundae The Dog (SUNDAE) and Sexone (SEX) were added.

Hot Take: Bitget Looks Beyond Hong Kong

Despite withdrawing from Hong Kong, Bitget is focusing on expansion and innovation by adding new tokens and celebrating its achievements in other markets. This move reflects the company’s commitment to growth and development beyond geographical limitations.
