CZ Faces Enforcement Actions in the US
Meanwhile, Changpeng Zhao is currently dealing with enforcement action after pleading guilty to charges related to violating the Bank Secrecy Act. As a result, he stepped down as CEO of Binance while the exchange attempted to settle with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). CZ was held in custody but later released on a $175 million bail bond, with strict orders not to leave the U.S.
Despite efforts from CZ’s legal team to allow him to travel to the United Arab Emirates, where he claims to have family ties, the court has rejected his request. Recently, his bail conditions were modified to further restrict him from leaving the U.S. before his sentencing.

He is now required to surrender his passports and other travel documents to a third-party custodian appointed by his counsel.
