Cardano’s Explanation for Nami Wallet Malfunction
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has addressed the recent malfunctioning of Nami, a wallet acquired by the protocol. He explained that a team is investigating the issue with Nami’s implementation of ADAHandles and has identified a delay in fetching these handles. To prevent further damage, the team has temporarily disabled ADAHandles within the Nami wallet. They are currently developing and testing a solution while seeking approval from Google. In the meantime, Nami users are advised to take a break.
Nami Wallet and Lace – Complementary Duo
Nami wallet was acquired by Cardano to enhance its mass usage in the community. To avoid similar issues, Cardano’s light wallet Lace has undergone significant upgrades. The latest version, Lace vs1.7, includes improved multi-staking capabilities and tools for better insights on staking pool retirement and saturation. However, Cardano still needed a protocol like Nami to migrate its user experience to a codebase maintained using IOG’s engineering standards.
Unfortunately, this migration takes time and bugs can arise in the acquired codebase during this process. Cardano is working diligently to resolve the issues with Nami and get it running smoothly as soon as possible.
