CoinShares Launches Hedge Fund Division and Expands into the U.S. Market
European crypto asset manager CoinShares International Ltd has entered the U.S. market with the launch of its new hedge fund division, CoinShares Hedge Fund Solutions. The Jersey-based firm aims to expand its product suite and target qualified U.S. investors with a range of private investment strategies.
The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, CoinShares Capital LLC, registered with FINRA, will conduct marketing activities to support the strategies and products of CoinShares Hedge Fund Solutions.
Lewis Fellas Appointed as Head of the Division
Lewis Fellas, an experienced traditional asset manager, has been appointed to lead CoinShares’ new division. Fellas expressed his honor in being able to pioneer the space of crypto asset management within the firm and highlighted the team’s expertise in digital assets.
CoinShares Hedge Fund Solutions will utilize CoinShares’ existing trading and quantitative teams, according to CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti. The company aims to deliver a premium experience to investors and meet the demands of institutional investors in a changing macro environment.
CoinShares Returns to Its Roots
CoinShares’ expansion into the U.S. market marks a return to its roots as it initially operated as a commodity hedge fund before venturing into digital assets. The firm is publicly traded on Nasdaq Stockholm (CS) and OTCQX (CNSRF).
Earlier this week, CoinShares reported a near half-billion dollar outflow streak in digital asset investment products, led by Bitcoin. However, Solana, Cardano, and XRP products have bucked this trend.
