Starbucks Introduces NFTs as Part of Loyalty Program

Starbucks has announced its foray into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as part of its blockchain-based loyalty program called Starbucks Odyssey. The coffee giant plans to release four unique NFT designs, which will be unveiled to buyers by October 10, 2023. These NFTs are minted on the Ethereum scaling network Polygon and sold on Nifty Gateway.

Starbucks Odyssey Loyalty Program

Starbucks Odyssey was introduced last year and allows members to participate in interactive activities, such as games and quizzes, to earn digital collectibles known as “journey stamps.” These stamps can now be used to purchase the newly released NFTs from Starbucks.

The Integration of Starbucks into Web3

By integrating its loyalty program into the web3 space through the use of blockchain technology and NFTs, Starbucks aims to deepen its connection with customers and provide a unique experience within the crypto world. Brady Brewer, Starbucks’ executive vice president and chief marketing officer, stated that this move allows Starbucks to enter the web3 space differently from other brands while strengthening the bond with its members.

Availability and Pricing

The newly released Starbucks NFTs can be found on the Nifty Gateway platform. Currently, there are several NFTs available, ranging in price from $7.44 to $768. Customers have the option to purchase individual designs or buy all four for a special opportunity.
