The social media account of Staci Warden, the CEO of the Algorand Foundation, has been hacked. This marks the third major hack of crypto-related accounts this month. In a recent thread, Algorand announced the compromise and warned against interacting with the account. The company is currently working on recovering it.

The hacker posted several messages, including a link to a recording titled “puppets ruined Bitcoin” and false claims that Warden has been fired from Algorand and lost her affiliates.

A Series of Crypto Social Media Hacks

This incident is the latest in a series of social media hacks targeting crypto executives or regulators. On January 9th, an exploiter gained access to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) account, falsely claiming that the agency had approved Bitcoin exchange-traded funds. On January 18th, a hacker took over VeChain’s account to promote a fake giveaway.

No Impact on ALGO Price

The news of the hack did not seem to affect the price of ALGO. At the time of writing, the digital asset is trading at $0.167, representing a 4.2% gain in the last 24 hours.
