Cardano Founder Criticizes Ethereum’s Staking Redesign Plans
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of blockchain development firm Input Output Global (IOG), has criticized Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin’s plans to redesign the platform’s staking structure. Hoskinson’s comments came in response to a video where Buterin acknowledged the centralized nature of Ethereum’s current staking system and outlined plans for a redesign.
Hoskinson took a jab at Ethereum, stating that Buterin was “rediscovering” what Cardano had been working on for almost a decade without giving them credit. He refuted claims that he was fueling hostility with Ethereum, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging their work.
Cardano vs. Ethereum Decentralization
Hoskinson has previously made fun of Buterin and his ideas. In early October, Buterin shared a post about suggested changes in staking design for users with limited resources, which Hoskinson mocked.
Meanwhile, Cardano is moving towards a fully decentralized governance structure as it enters the Voltaire era in its roadmap. This includes transitioning all repositories to a community-run project called Intersect.
