Data from mempool.space reveals that this individual paid 19.8 BTC (worth approximately $510,750) for the transaction, which is 481 times the average fee and the highest-ever fee in USD for a single Bitcoin transaction. The payment was made to send out 0.074 BTC (worth about $1,916) on Sunday, September 10.
Interestingly, Jameson Lopp from Casa speculates that the entity responsible for the transaction may not have realized the error, as they still have a significant amount of funds in their wallet and continue to send transactions.
