Ethereum’s Deneb-Cancun Upgrade Could Face Delay to 2024
There is a possibility that Ethereum’s upcoming upgrade, known as Deneb-Cancun or “Dencun,” might be delayed until early next year. The purpose of this upgrade is to address scalability issues within the Ethereum ecosystem by implementing the Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 4844.

Beiko suggested that if there is no public testnet launch before DevConnect, the Dencun upgrade might only be realized in 2024.

The current progress of the upgrade is still in the “devnet phase,” with only three months left in the year. Core developers mentioned a localized developer network called “Devnet 9,” which will be used to test Dencun before transitioning to the public testnet phase.
