LockBit Ransomware Gang Dismantled in Coordinated Campaign
The notorious LockBit ransomware gang has been taken down in a joint operation involving law enforcement agencies from the United States, United Kingdom, and several other countries. The US Department of Justice has unsealed an indictment against two Russian individuals, Artur Sungatov and Ivan Kondratyev, for carrying out LockBit attacks against US companies. Sungatov targeted manufacturers, insurance firms, and other companies across six states since January 2021. Kondratyev, known as “Bassterlord,” deployed the ransomware on various targets starting in August 2021.
