Dymension to Launch Incentivized Testnet for Developers
Dymension, the startup behind the interconnected network of modular blockchains called RollApps, is set to launch its incentivized testnet by the end of this month. This testnet will allow developers to interact with Dymension’s IBC-compatible rollups and start building more scalable dApps. Here are the key points:
- Developers can easily deploy RollApps using Dymension’s command line tool, Roller, on the testnet.
- The deployment of the testnet was made possible through collaborations with Avail and Celestia.
- Dymension’s RollApps provide full compatibility with IBC and the Cosmos ecosystem and can connect to any data availability network.
- Earlier this year, Dymension raised $6.7 million in a funding round led by Big Brain Holdings and Stratos.
- The successful implementation of Dymension’s devnet saw over 500 RollApps deployed.

Dymension aims to accelerate Web3’s growth by offering developers an alternative to Ethereum and its scalability constraints. With the launch of the incentivized testnet, Dymension expects to attract more interest in its RollApps from the wider Cosmos and Ethereum ecosystems. By providing a secure and reliable bridge to the IBC ecosystem, Dymension Hub enables highly secure and fast blockchains with reduced infrastructure costs for dApp deployment.
Interacting with RollApps through the Dymension Portal
When the testnet goes live, users can access RollApps through the Dymension Portal, the primary web interface. From the portal, users can view ecosystem statistics and bridge over IBC using the MetaMask wallet. All RollApps deployed on the testnet will publish their data to Avail and Celestia, with support for Cosmos and Ethereum coming in a future update. Developers also have the flexibility to choose from multiple virtual machines, including EVM and CosmWasm.
