Steven Nerayoff, known as one of the earliest advisors for Ethereum, has recently responded to a social media post accusing him of fraud and exploitation. The accuser, a user called Cryptoking on the social media platform X, mentioned the failed crypto project he worked on with Nerayoff before accusing him of fraudulent behavior, to which Nerayoff responded by calling the accusation “very libelous” and entirely fabricated.
How the Defamatory Accusation Originated
The post by Jake Greenbaum, also known as Cryptoking, surfaced after almost four months as a reaction to a discussion on another thread. Another account, @Whalechart, shared about Nerayoff’s plans to share proof of Ethereum founders’ fraud activities. However, Cryptoking refuted Nerayoff’s legitimacy, calling him the biggest fraud he’s ever worked with.
Nerayoff did not take this accusation lightly. In response, he called Cryptoking a shill paid to disgrace his name and further threatened to expose all fraudulent activities and sue Cryptoking.
Nerayoff’s Plans and Response
To defend himself, Nerayoff shared the original post on his timeline. Cryptoking detailed how his first crypto project lost $1 million in capital, claiming Nerayoff took advantage of new projects in order to receive listing fees, leading to the project’s failure.
Nerayoff plans to pursue legal action against Cryptoking and anyone spreading misinformation about him and has warned those planning to lie about him. Additionally, Nerayoff continues to focus on creating “Crypto 2.0”, a reboot for the entire crypto industry.
Hot Take: Defending His Reputation
Nerayoff’s response aims at defending his name against what he calls defamatory accusations while continuing his work and vision for the future of the crypto industry.
