Bitwise Asset Management Announces Ethereum Futures ETFs and Updates Bitcoin ETF Application
Bitwise Asset Management has made significant progress in its pursuit of a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) by revising its application. Additionally, the company has revealed that it will soon launch two Ethereum futures ETFs, namely the Bitwise Ethereum Strategy ETF and the Bitwise Bitcoin and Ether Equal Weight Strategy ETF. These ETFs will provide investors with access to Ethereum futures listed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Matt Hougan, the chief investment officer at Bitwise, explains that Ethereum offers a wider range of investment opportunities compared to Bitcoin. Some investors view it as an alternative, while others see it as a conventional growth investment that combines elements of both.
While Bitwise makes progress on its ETF offerings, other firms like BlackRock, Invesco, and Valkyrie are also awaiting approval for their Bitcoin ETF applications from the SEC. However, the SEC’s decision has been delayed due to a pending U.S. government shutdown.
The resolution of the Grayscale lawsuit may also impact the timing of the SEC’s decision on Bitcoin ETF approvals. A U.S. court recently dismissed the SEC’s objections, clearing the way for the approval of the Grayscale spot Bitcoin ETF.
A Pivotal Shift in Crypto Investment Landscape
The launch of Ethereum and Bitcoin ETFs by Bitwise marks a significant development in the crypto investment landscape. With Ethereum’s expanding investment opportunities and pending decisions on Bitcoin ETFs, this move demonstrates the evolving dynamics in the crypto sphere. It offers investors and enthusiasts a glimpse into the future of digital assets.
