Exverse Secures $3 Million in Private Funding to Realize Web3's Version of 'Call of Duty'

Dubai-Based Game Studio Exverse Raises $3 Million in Private Round

Exverse, a free-to-play AAA first-person-shooter game on the Web3 platform, has secured $3 million in funding from investors such as Cogitent Ventures, Cointelligence, and Moonrock Capital. Additional support comes from KuCoin Labs, Epic Games, Seedify, and ChainGPT. The funding will be used to prepare for the game’s testnet and token launch, establish strategic partnerships, and expand marketing efforts in the APAC region.

Prioritizing Quality Game Development over Tokenomics

Exverse aims to address the unsustainable business model that plagued early Web3 gaming projects during the crypto winter. Instead of prioritizing tokenomics and flashy trailers, Exverse focuses on building a quality game that appeals to both mainstream gamers and crypto enthusiasts. The startup has formed strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Seedify, KuCoin Labs, and ChainGPT to ensure a strong game development process and effective marketing strategy.

An Immersive Gaming Experience Powered by Blockchain Technology

The Exverse ecosystem spans three interconnected planets—Social, Quest, and Battle—offering players an immersive experience with competitive gameplay mechanics, dynamic visuals, and a fluid physics engine. The game utilizes blockchain technology to strike a balance between enjoyable gameplay and skill-based rewards. Players can stake tokens before each season’s kickoff to earn in-game NFT rewards.

Upcoming Alpha Launch and Exclusive Tournament

Exverse has already surpassed 65,000 verified signups ahead of its alpha launch scheduled for March. The launch will feature a 5,000-player tournament on the Battle Planet. This exclusive event allows early wait listers to test their skills before the token launch.

“We see ourselves as pioneers in the gaming industry because we’ve built an AAA-quality, classic first-person shooter with Web3 elements,” says Exverse CEO Fei Ooi Hoong. “Our hybrid approach is the result of our understanding that for NFT or blockchain games to succeed post-bull market, they need to appeal to gamers in the same way as beloved titles like ‘Call of Duty,’ ‘Halo,’ and ‘Counter-Strike’ have.”
