The decentralized internet protocol Frax Finance has announced that its domain has been compromised by attackers. The protocol made the announcement on Nov. 1 through its official X (formerly Twitter) account. However, the project team quickly regained control of the domain with the help of their domain registry.

For instance, Convex Finance experienced a similar incident last year when an attacker took over their DNS server and tricked users into approving malicious smart contracts. Consequently, Convex Finance had to establish new website addresses after its original URLs were hijacked.
Rising Scams and Security Incidents in the Crypto Industry
According to CertiK, the cryptocurrency industry suffered losses of $32.2 million due to scams and security incidents in October alone. Vulnerability exploits accounted for $22 million of the funds lost, while exit scams and rug pulls contributed $8 million to the total.
