For instance, Convex Finance experienced a similar incident last year when an attacker took over their DNS server and tricked users into approving malicious smart contracts. Consequently, Convex Finance had to establish new website addresses after its original URLs were hijacked.

According to CertiK, the cryptocurrency industry suffered losses of $32.2 million due to scams and security incidents in October alone. Vulnerability exploits accounted for $22 million of the funds lost, while exit scams and rug pulls contributed $8 million to the total.
