FTX Hacker Transfers 30,000 Ether Worth $51.15 Million

The FTX hacker has recently moved a total of 30,000 ETH, which is equivalent to around $51.15 million based on current ETH values. The transfers were made in multiple batches, with the initial transfers consisting of 2,500 ETH each. Subsequent movements included amounts of 1,250 ETH, 2,500 ETH, 1,500 ETH, 4,750 ETH, and two separate transfers of 7,500 ETH each.

Hacker Holds Over $268 Million Worth of Ethereum

Despite transferring millions of dollars’ worth of ethereum, the FTX wallet drainer still possesses a significant amount of assets. The hacker currently holds 155,749 ETH valued at slightly above $268 million. In addition to ethereum, the hacker’s holdings include 3.97 million USDT, 1.68 million DAI, 1.57 BTC, and various other crypto assets and ERC20 tokens.

Speculations on Inside Job

Speculations have arisen suggesting that the FTX wallet hack may have been an inside job due to the timing of the fund transfers. Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried stated that he has narrowed down the list of potential suspects to eight people but is uncertain who the actual perpetrator is. The breach was initially detected on the day FTX declared bankruptcy when irregularities in account balances were discovered by the team.
