Gemini Loses Second Executive Amid Struggles in Asia-Pacific
Gemini, founded by the Winklevoss twins, is facing more challenges as its Chief Technology Officer Pravjit Tiwana leaves the firm after joining in early 2022. According to reports, Tiwana, who also served as Gemini APAC Chief Executive, is departing this month. His efforts to revamp the exchange’s culture reportedly led to some employees leaving, though the extent of these changes is unclear. Prior to Gemini, Tiwana spent over six years at Amazon Web Services.
This marks the second high-profile departure from Gemini in 2023, following the exit of chief operating officer Noah Perlman in January. Meanwhile, the company is embroiled in legal battles with Genesis and its parent company, Digital Currency Group (DCG), related to FTX’s collapse and the suspension of its lending program Gemini Earn.

The company’s efforts to expand into the Asia-Pacific region have been hindered by internal upheaval and ongoing legal battles with Genesis and DCG. These issues raise concerns about Gemini’s ability to navigate regulatory hurdles and maintain a stable leadership team amid industry turbulence.
