GoDaddy Partners with Ethereum Name Service (ENS) for Linking Domains and Web3 Addresses

GoDaddy Partners with Ethereum Name Service to Bring Customers into Web3

GoDaddy, the world’s largest domain registration company, has teamed up with Ethereum Name Service (ENS) to allow its millions of customers to access the Web3 ecosystem. This partnership enables GoDaddy customers to associate an Ethereum address with their domain names for free through the domain management interface. Once configured, customers can use their domain names instead of Ethereum addresses in various web3 applications, including wallets, block explorers, and NFT markets.

The Gateway to Web3 is Now Free for GoDaddy Customers

Previously, importing DNS names into ENS incurred high transaction costs. However, with the launch of Gasless DNSSEC by ENS on January 29, 2024, GoDaddy customers can now access Web3 through ENS without any transaction costs. GoDaddy is the first company to integrate with this new feature. ENS aims to integrate with the existing Internet infrastructure and make it easier for users to participate in the decentralized web.

The Price Pump of ENS

The announcement of the partnership with GoDaddy has led to a price increase for ENS. Since February 5th, ENS’s price has risen from $17.12 to almost $24 and currently sits at around $20. This represents a 13% increase in the past week. ENS is ranked 91st in the overall crypto ranking with a market cap of over $643 million.

Hot Take: GoDaddy and ENS Partnership Expands Access to Web3

The collaboration between GoDaddy and Ethereum Name Service marks a significant step towards mainstream adoption of Web3 technology. By allowing millions of GoDaddy customers to easily connect their domains with Ethereum addresses, the partnership opens up new possibilities for using blockchain-based applications. The integration of Web3 services into traditional Internet infrastructure is crucial for bridging the gap between centralized and decentralized systems. With the price pump of ENS following the announcement, it’s clear that there is growing interest in the potential of Web3, and partnerships like this one will continue to drive its expansion.
