Google Cloud joins as a validator on the Polygon network

Google Cloud Joins Polygon as Validator on PoS Network

Polygon Labs recently announced that Google Cloud has become a validator on its proof-of-stake (PoS) network. As one of over 100 validators, Google Cloud will play a crucial role in verifying transactions on Polygon’s layer-2 Ethereum network. The company highlighted that the same infrastructure used to power YouTube and Gmail will now help secure the fast and low-cost Ethereum-for-all Polygon protocol.

Securing the Network through Validators

Validators on the Polygon network ensure its security by operating nodes, staking MATIC tokens, and participating in proof-of-stake consensus mechanisms. While many validators remain anonymous, Google Cloud’s participation adds to the list of prominent validators such as Deutsche Telekom, one of Europe’s largest telecommunications firms.

Ongoing Collaboration between Google Cloud and Polygon Labs

Google Cloud Singapore confirmed its role as a validator on the Polygon PoS network, emphasizing its commitment to contributing to the network’s security, governance, and decentralization. The partnership with Polygon Labs is described as an ongoing strategic collaboration by Google Cloud. In addition to becoming a validator, Google Cloud Asia Pacific released a YouTube video titled “Polygon Labs is solving for a Web3 future for all.”
