XPLA Teams Up with Google Cloud as Volunteer Validator
XPLA, a blockchain network founded by South Korean game publisher Com2uS, has partnered with Google Cloud as its first volunteer validator. Blockchain validators play a crucial role in verifying and confirming transactions to support the network. However, XPLA’s volunteer validators are not rewarded with tokens but instead contribute to a community pool. The proposal to institute the volunteer validator feature has received 100% votes in favor from the XPLA network.
Accelerating Web3 Games with Google Cloud
Jack Buser, General Director of Google Cloud Game Industry Solutions, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that it aims to enhance the growth and innovation of Web3 games using Google Cloud’s secure and high-performance infrastructure. XPLA is built on Tendermint protocol and is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Popular games running on XPLA include The Walking Dead: All-Stars, Summoner’s War: Chronicles, and Ace Fishing: Crew.
XPLA’s Journey and Other Validators
The XPLA network was initially established as C2X on Terra but rebranded and launched in August 2022 after Terra’s loss of traction. Besides Google Cloud, other validators on the XPLA network include Animoca Brands and Gumi. Google Cloud has previously joined other blockchain networks as a validator, including Solana, Tezos, Aptos, Polygon, and Celo. The company has also collaborated with Coinbase for cryptocurrency payments. In April, Google Cloud launched its Web3 Startups Program to provide additional benefits for crypto firms.
Hot Take: A Boost for Web3 Gaming

By leveraging Google Cloud’s secure infrastructure, XPLA aims to deliver innovative and engaging gaming experiences to players worldwide. With the support of major industry players like Google Cloud, the Web3 gaming ecosystem continues to thrive and evolve, offering exciting opportunities for both developers and gamers alike.
