Serum City: A City-Building Game Utilizing NFT Assets
Serum City, a city-building game developed by Novel Labs and Faraway, is now available to play. The game utilizes NFT assets from Yuga Labs’ Mutant Ape Yacht Club and other collections. However, in order to play, you’ll need an access pass, which is currently only available to certain NFT project holders.
Claim Your Access Pass
If you own NFTs from the Mutant Hounds, Mutant Cartel Oath, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and Mutant Ape Yacht Club collections, you can claim and mint an access pass for Serum City. The mint is free, but users will have to pay Ethereum network gas fees.
Gradually Adding More Eligible Players
The developers of Serum City plan to open up access over time with each new season of in-game content. They aim to gradually add more eligible players. Currently, approximately 39,000 individual NFTs are eligible to claim passes.
Ethereum NFTs and ApeCoin
Serum City is built around Ethereum NFTs and uses ApeCoin as its in-game currency. While the game spotlights Mutant Ape characters, it is not developed by Bored Ape and Mutant Ape creator Yuga Labs. It is an independent project that utilizes the decentralized commercial rights offered to owners of Yuga’s Ape NFT projects.
Collaboration with Yuga Labs on New Game Projects
Co-developer Faraway is now working closely with Yuga Labs on its own game projects. This includes the upcoming free-to-play version of Yuga’s Dookey Dash game, set to launch this quarter. Additionally, an Otherside-themed mobile game is in the works and will be released in the second half of the year.
