Can Bitcoin Miners Heat Your Home? My Experiment with Heatbit

DIY solutions that utilize Bitcoin miner “waste” heat in the home are becoming popular, but they can be tricky to set up. There are also companies like Heatbit and BitHeater that offer heater-cum-Bitcoin mining solutions. However, for the average person, it can seem daunting.
I decided to experiment with using a Heatbit Bitcoin miner to heat my home in Portugal. The setup was easy, and the device was surprisingly quiet. While I didn’t make much money from mining Bitcoin, the Heatbit served as an efficient heater and helped lower my electricity bill. However, Heatbit is releasing a smaller and more affordable version, the Heatbit Mini, which will be available in time for the next European winter.
