Unknown Bitcoin Holder Pays $3.14 Million in Transfer Fees
An anonymous Bitcoin owner recently sent 139.4 BTC to AntPool, resulting in transaction fees of 83.65 BTC, equivalent to over $3 million. This high fee is one of the largest recorded in the crypto industry. The mining pool, AntPool, received the reward for processing this transfer.
AntPool has not yet commented on the transaction, and the cause of the unusually high fees remains unknown. However, as network congestion increases, transaction fees tend to rise as well.
Past Instances of High Bitcoin Transaction Fees
This incident is not an isolated case. In September, a party mistakenly paid over $510,000 to transfer only 0.074 BTC. It was later revealed that Paxos was responsible for the error. Fortunately, Wang Chong, co-founder of F2Pool mining pool, managed to return the accidental commission of 20 BTC to Paxos.

As blockchain networks face increased congestion and soaring fees, it becomes crucial for users and platforms to exercise caution when executing transactions.
