Immutable Introduces “Immutable Passport” for Web3 Gamers
Immutable, a Web3 game publisher, has launched its new wallet infrastructure called “Immutable Passport.” This feature allows users to generate and restore their wallets using a Google or Apple account or through an email address. According to a press release, the passport feature has already been adopted by five games and apps, including Gods Unchained, Blocklete Golf, B/R Watch 2 Earn, TokenTrove, and AtomicHub, with a combined user base of over 500,000 people.

Immutable President and Co-Founder Robbie Ferguson stated that the new passport feature increases user acquisition and optimizes transaction conversion rates. Study Shows Higher Completion Rate with Immutable Passport
An August study conducted by Immutable compared the completion rates of gamers using Immutable Passport versus traditional wallet solutions. The study found that Flow A (Passport) had a completion rate over twice as high as Flow B (Email + Wallet). This indicates that players are more likely to convert when using Immutable Passport.
Secure Wallet Solution
In an interview with Cointelegraph, Immutable explained that its Passport secures users’ funds by leveraging the Magic software development kit. The private key generated during the initial login is encrypted and stored in an Amazon Web Services Hardware Security Module. Immutable emphasized that it doesn’t have access to the key, making Passport a noncustodial login solution.
