XRP Ledger Clawback Amendment Now Live
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has activated the Clawback amendment, version 1.12.0, on its mainnet. The amendment received a strong majority of votes in favor, with 33 out of 35 validators supporting it. This indicates that the XRP community is confident in the benefits and enhancements that the Clawback feature will bring to the ecosystem.
Unlike previous features, Clawback is a crucial upgrade to the XRPL’s token asset management tools. It allows developers to reverse token transactions in specific scenarios, such as fraud or assisting users who have lost access to their credentials.
Complementing Existing Features
The Clawback feature complements the existing Freeze feature on the XRP Ledger, which enables issuers to immobilize assets in response to malicious activities. By activating the Trustline flag, users can gain access to important assets and further strengthen the XRPL’s security framework.
Other Amendments on the XRP Ledger
In addition to Clawback, several other amendments have been introduced on the XRP Ledger recently. These include the DisallowIncoming amendment, which provides an additional layer of control for account holders to manage incoming transactions effectively. Other amendments such as fixNonFungibleTokensV1_2, fixTrustLinesToSelf, fixUniversalNumber, and ImmediateOfferKilled are aimed at improving the functionality of the XRP Ledger.
