Google Cloud Adds 11 New Blockchains to BigQuery Program
Google Cloud has expanded its ‘BigQuery’ program by adding 11 new blockchains, allowing developers and users to easily access blockchain data. The newly added networks include Avalanche, Near, Fantom, Optimism, Polygon, Polygon Mumbai Testnet, Tron, Cronos, Arbitrum, and Ethereum Görli testnet. This move is aimed at providing a more comprehensive view of the crypto landscape and enabling users to answer complex questions regarding transaction fees, NFTs minted, and active wallets on different chains.
Enhancing Access to Blockchain Information
The goal of this expansion is to increase the pool of blockchain information available on BigQuery. Users will be able to query on-chain transaction history off-chain and understand asset flows from wallets and user interaction with smart contracts. Google Cloud has also improved its existing blockchain dataset by integrating Satoshis (sats) and Ordinals for developers.
Continued Investment in Blockchain
Google Cloud started offering blockchain datasets in 2018 with the introduction of Bitcoin (BTC) Network data. It has since added various other blockchains such as Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Ethereum Classic. The company plans to invest further in blockchain technology and recently partnered with Voltage and Orderly Network to provide off-chain tools for decentralized applications.
Improving Data Accuracy
In an effort to provide more accurate data, Google Cloud has introduced UDF for smarter UNIT256 integration and BIGNUMERIC support. These updates increase the number of decimals when accessing blockchain data, reducing the risk of computation errors.
A New Approach to Data Access
Google Cloud has reformed its data access model by allowing customers to access blockchain data as easily as their own data. By combining chain data with application data, users can gain a complete understanding of their users and business.
Hot Take: Google Cloud Expands Blockchain Data Access with 11 New Blockchains
Google Cloud’s addition of 11 new blockchains to its BigQuery program demonstrates its commitment to providing comprehensive blockchain data access. This expansion allows developers and users to query a wide range of blockchain information and gain insights into transaction fees, NFTs minted, and active wallets on different chains. With improved data accuracy and a user-friendly approach to data access, Google Cloud is positioning itself as a leading provider of blockchain analytics tools. As the company continues to invest in blockchain technology, it is likely to play a significant role in shaping the future of the crypto industry.
