Privacy-Focused Blockchain Namada Introduces Incentivized Testnet
Namada, a privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain, has launched an incentivized testnet that rewards participants with 3% of its total supply. The testnet, called the “Namada Shielded Expedition,” is a multiplayer role-playing game designed to test the network’s consensus algorithm and Sybil resistance ahead of its mainnet release in 2024.
Competitive Gameplay to Test Network Features
The testnet allows validators and users to join a competitive game called the “asteroid mining race.” Participants will be ranked based on the number of points they accumulate, with successful players receiving a share of 30 million NAM tokens.
Testnet Schedule and Incentives
The Namada testnet starts on Jan. 15 and runs until the end of the month. This follows a community airdrop by Namada, where 65 million tokens were allocated to researchers, developers, and stakers on Cosmos Hub and Osmosis blockchains.
About Namada
Namada is a proof-of-stake Layer-1 blockchain protocol developed by the Anoma Foundation. It aims to enable asset-agnostic multichain privacy using zero-knowledge proofs for transferring assets across different blockchains. The network also features a native Ethereum bridge for asset movement. The Anoma Foundation secured $25 million in funding in May 2023 to develop its ecosystem, including Namada.
Hot Take: Namada Testnet Rewards Participants with Tokens
Namada’s incentivized testnet offers participants an exciting opportunity to earn tokens while testing the network’s features. By engaging in competitive gameplay and accumulating points, participants have a chance to win a share of the 30 million NAM tokens. This initiative not only encourages users to explore Namada’s capabilities but also helps the network refine its consensus algorithm and Sybil resistance. With its focus on privacy and asset-agnostic multichain functionality, Namada aims to make a significant impact in the blockchain space when it launches its mainnet in 2024.
