Coinbase Launches Base Bootcamp to Train Software Developers in Blockchain Technology
Coinbase’s layer-2 (L2) network, Base, has introduced Base Bootcamp, an eight-week training program aimed at transforming traditional software developers into proficient smart contract developers. With the goal of bridging the gap between the current number of on-chain developers (less than 30,000) and the vast number of software developers (over 30 million), the program aims to create a more open and global ecosystem for blockchain technology.
The hands-on and collaborative nature of the Bootcamp, with support from experienced engineers and mentors, provides participants with an interactive learning experience. With a limited capacity of only 20 students per cohort, personalized attention is ensured. Participants will have access to mentors and dedicated office hours for troubleshooting. They will also be able to connect with classmates, Coinbase engineers, and mentors through a special Discord channel.
The program accommodates full-time professionals by offering flexibility in terms of pace and scheduling. The final project requires participants to develop a real-world decentralized application (dapp) using tools provided by Base engineers. Applications for the upcoming cohort close on Oct. 27, presenting an opportunity for developers to enter the world of blockchain technology.
