Mintable, a company specializing in non-fungible tokens (NFTs), has developed a unique NFT that has been used by investigators to trace millions of stolen cryptocurrencies. Intelligent Sanctuary, an investigative firm advised by former Met Chief Lord Hogan-Howe, obtained permission from a Singapore court to issue a global freezing order using NFTs in a lawsuit.
The NFT created by Mintable was designed to help recover stolen crypto identified by iSanctuary, a London-based financial investigative agency. The NFT includes a worldwide freezing order granted by the Singapore High Court, setting a precedent in the city-state’s legal system.
Mintable’s B2B services brand, Mintology.app, is collaborating with iSanctuary on an ongoing investigation into international financial crime involving the theft of a cryptocurrency key and fraudulent transfers. The NFT uses Soulbound token technology to permanently attach the freezing order to the target wallets.
According to Zach Burks, founder and CEO of Mintable, this innovative use of NFTs demonstrates the potential of the technology in various industries. Mintology.app is the first known NFT company to use Soulbound token technology in a legal context.
By working with iSanctuary and utilizing NFTs, Mintable is at the forefront of developing new ways to recover stolen cryptocurrencies and combat illegal activity in the digital asset space. This collaboration showcases the power of innovative solutions in tackling complex digital fraud cases.
