Canaan Introduces the Liquid-Cooled A1466I: Revolutionizing Bitcoin Mining Efficiency
Canaan, the ASIC manufacturer, revealed its latest series of mining rigs, the Avalon 14, at the “Avalon Bitcoin & Crypto Day” conference in Singapore. Among the models is the A1466I, which stands out with its energy efficiency rating below 20 J/T, specifically 19.5 J/T. This impressive mining machine has a production capacity of up to 170 TH/s.
Two Cooling Options for Enhanced Performance
Canaan emphasized the availability of two cooling options during their presentation. The A1466I utilizes liquid cooling, while the A1466 is air-cooled. The latter offers a hashrate of 150 TH/s with an energy efficiency ratio of 21.5 J/T. Canaan’s Vice President, Davis Hui, unveiled these groundbreaking miners at the event, marking the company’s 10th anniversary.
Canaan Leads the Way, but Competition Looms
The Avalon series miners by Canaan were the first publicly sold ASIC bitcoin miners in 2013. While Canaan is currently the leader in sub-20 J/T efficiency, Bitmain plans to launch its Antminer S21 line at the 2023 World Digital Mining Summit. Bitmain claims that the S21 will also boast an equally impressive efficiency rating of 1X J/T.
Hot Take: Canaan Raises the Bar with Innovative Mining Solutions
Canaan’s introduction of the liquid-cooled A1466I demonstrates their commitment to pushing the boundaries of energy efficiency in bitcoin mining. With an efficiency rating below 20 J/T, this miner offers miners the opportunity to optimize their operations and increase profitability. However, with Bitmain’s upcoming Antminer S21 line promising an equally impressive efficiency rating, the competition in the mining industry is heating up. Miners will have to carefully consider their options to ensure they stay ahead in this rapidly evolving landscape.
