A Decentralized Ethereum Supreme Court: A Solution to On-Chain Disputes
The crypto community is buzzing with excitement over a groundbreaking proposal by Alex Gluchowski, the Founder and CEO of Matter Labs. Gluchowski has introduced a unique approach to resolving controversies in the decentralized space.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Gluchowski outlined his plan to create an ‘Ethereum Supreme Court’ that would handle all debates and disagreements within the Ethereum ecosystem. The purpose of this court would be to protect the Ethereum network from political interference and address unresolved issues such as centralization and smart contract implementation risks.
According to Gluchowski, the Ethereum Supreme Court would operate as a multi-layered system, similar to the United States court system. It would consist of several on-chain courts organized in a hierarchy, with the ‘L1 Fork’ serving as the Court of Final Appeal.
While there have been concerns raised about the court’s ability to solve certain on-chain problems and ensure genuine decentralization, Gluchowski’s proposal offers a potential solution to the challenges faced by the Ethereum network. However, its implementation would require extensive community consensus.
