Helium Mobile, the world’s first crypto carrier, has introduced a nationwide plan in the United States that offers limitless data, text, and calls for only $20 per month. The plan combines the Helium Network, an IoT project built on the Solana blockchain, with a nationwide 5G network. After conducting a limited trial in Miami, Helium Mobile is now available to users across the US, providing unlimited data, talk, and text through its cell service in collaboration with T-Mobile.
How Helium Works
The Helium Network allows individuals to operate hotspot nodes from their homes or businesses in exchange for rewards in Solana-based MOBILE tokens. Nova Labs, the entity behind the Helium Network, is currently offering a hybrid cell service that utilizes its decentralized network and switches to T-Mobile coverage when Helium hotspots are unavailable.
