Binance Launchpool Introduces New Web3 Gaming Altcoin
Binance is set to list a new social Web3 gaming altcoin called Pixels (PIXEL) on its Launchpool platform. Pixels is an open-ended game focused on farming and exploration, built on the Ronin (RON) gaming-focused Ethereum sidechain. Users will be able to stake BNB and FDUSD in separate pools to farm PIXEL tokens. The staking period begins on Friday and lasts for 10 days, after which PIXEL will be listed for trading on February 19th. Binance applies seed tags to lower-liquidity tokens like PIXELs to indicate their potential volatility. PIXEL holders are required to pass quizzes every 90 days to ensure they understand the risks associated with the asset.
Pixels Game Gains Momentum
Pixels has gained significant traction, with over 180,000 daily active users (DAU) in 2023. The game attributes its success to its engaged community and migration to the Ronin blockchain. Ronin offers a proprietary blockchain solution specifically designed for gaming applications.
Transition from BERRY to PIXEL
Pixels previously used an in-game currency called BERRY, but plans to phase it out in favor of PIXEL. BERRY holders will be rewarded with a proportionate amount of PIXEL, and BERRY will be replaced by an off-chain coin within the game.
Hot Take: Binance Continues Expansion into Gaming Sector
Binance’s listing of Pixels on its Launchpool platform demonstrates the exchange’s ongoing efforts to expand its presence in the gaming sector. By supporting Web3 gaming projects like Pixels, Binance aims to tap into the growing popularity of blockchain-based games and provide its users with access to innovative investment opportunities. With its engaged community and migration to the Ronin blockchain, Pixels has the potential to attract a significant user base and contribute to the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology in the gaming industry.
