Rumors of ARK Invest Bitcoin ETF Listing on DTCC Website Debunked
Despite rumors circulating on social media, ARK Invest’s spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) does not appear to be listed on the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) website. Several high-profile crypto accounts on Twitter claimed that ARK Invest and 21 Shares’ joint spot Bitcoin ETF had been listed on the DTCC’s site, but the screenshots shared did not show the correct ticker for the ETF.
No Listing Found for ARKB Ticker
The most recent filing for ARK’s spot Bitcoin ETF, dated October 11, reveals that the fund will trade using the ticker “ARKB.” However, as of October 25, the DTCC website does not show any listing under this ticker. The ticker “ARKA” is actually associated with the ARK 21Shares Active Bitcoin Futures ETF, which is a yet-to-be-approved fund offering exposure to Bitcoin futures contracts. The tickers ARKY and ARKZ refer to proposed products pending approval by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

iShares Listing News Overhyped
The news of BlackRock’s iShares spot Bitcoin ETF being listed on the DTCC’s site also appears to be overhyped. A DTCC spokesperson revealed that the listing had been present since August and that it is standard practice for securities to be added to the NSCC security eligibility file in preparation for a new ETF launch. The appearance of a listing does not indicate any outcome regarding regulatory or approval processes.
Market Reaction and Amendments to ARK Invest ETF Application
The rumors about an ARK listing coincided with a 14% single-day rally for Bitcoin. Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted that ARK Invest had filed a fourth amendment to its spot Bitcoin ETF application, which seemed to be cosmetic changes rather than significant updates.
