The First AI-Designed Shoe Made in Italy, Certified on the Blockchain
Peron Shoes and EZ Lab have collaborated to create the very first artisanal shoe entirely made in Italy, designed by artificial intelligence and certified through blockchain technology. The project, called “First handmade shoe designed by AI,” combines the expertise of Peron Shoes, a luxury footwear company, with the innovative blockchain solutions of EZ Lab.
The Italian Masterpiece: AI Ballerinas
The collaboration between Peron Shoes and EZ Lab has resulted in a pair of handmade ballerinas that were showcased at the World AI Cannes Festival. These ballerinas are not only unique in their design but also feature an NFC tag inside the sole that provides detailed information about sustainability, traceability, origin, and company history through a Climate Digital Product Passport.
Experimentation, Transparency, and Sustainability
The manager of Peron Shoes, Alberto Masenadore, explains that the AI-designed shoes allow them to gather valuable information about customer desires, experiment with new designs, and optimize costs and production processes. Massimo Morbiato, CEO and founder of EZ Lab, adds that their solutions contribute to improving product traceability, combating greenwashing, and promoting transparency and sustainability in the supply chain.
Digital Traceability and Authenticity
Peron Shoes’ innovative approach includes the tokenization of their entire factory and the use of strategic sensors along the production process. This ensures that every phase is recorded on the blockchain through the Made in Block platform. The NFC tag embedded in the sole provides easy access to detailed information about the shoe’s origins. Additionally, the materials used are certified by the Leather Working Group for sustainability.
